September 2026: Development and maintenance announcements
Historical archive, not release notes or current operational notices. These unversioned Papapyrus Discord posts were supplied by the project owner. Dates/times below are those displayed in the extract; the time zone was not supplied. Planned possibilities are not claims that those features were already implemented.
September 7, 2026, 2:19 PM — Hosting possibilities
The operator explicitly described this as news, not a true update. They reported discovering that osu! links launched from PowerShell could make the client join or leave different lobbies, opening possibilities that still needed code:
- VPS-only operation with a six-hour discovery refresh, potentially enabling round-the-clock hosting.
- Multiple lobbies, subject to staying within API rate-limit rules: Farm-only, Stream-only or fixed-difficulty rooms, and possible private lobbies later.
- A request for suggestions as multiple lobbies became a possibility.
These are the possibilities announced at that time. The subsequent v6.0 headless multiroom announcement describes the later architecture.
September 8, 2026, 12:17 PM — Empty-safe maintenance notice
The operator announced that Rooms 1 and 2 would close once all players left while they attended class, then return later to push updates and bring the bot back. Players could continue playing until the lobbies emptied, potentially hours later.
This was a temporary maintenance notice, not a new release or a permanent hosting schedule. v6.0 was announced later that day.
September 10, 2026, 6:04 PM — Update preparation
The announcement said: “Shutting down rooms when empty to push a new update.” The subsequent v6.1 announcement was posted at 6:28 PM.
