Announced changes
- Receives lobby chat through osu!'s real-time notification WebSocket instead of repeatedly polling for messages.
- Faster commands/chat responses with fewer osu! API requests.
- One shared live chat connection serves every active lobby.
- Reconciles chat history on startup/reconnect and falls back to HTTP polling if the live connection drops; the announcement describes this as preventing missed commands.
- Three lobbies can run fully headless with one referee connection; osu!lazer need not remain open or switch rooms.
- Each lobby independently sends/receives chat while Discord controls and status channels continue working.
- API requests are primarily reserved for room state, player data, beatmap checks, messages and normal lobby operations rather than chat checks.
The announcement describes this as a major step toward more stable multi-lobby hosting.
For current behavior, use the feature guides and the command reference. Back to release history.
